Synopsis
Dead is just the beginning. The afterlife gets worse.
Abandon All Hope is a dark fantasy comedy adventure that reimagines Dante’s Inferno through the lens of modern Los Angeles, following an insecure aspiring writer who dies unexpectedly and awakens in a bizarre version of Hell built from traffic jams, nightclub limbo, studio backlots, and eternal bureaucratic suffering.
Thrown into the underworld alongside his smug and wildly unhelpful best friend, Darrell is forced to navigate a chaotic afterlife populated by demons, shades, mythological monsters, failed artists, literary icons, and the damned. As he journeys deeper through Hell in search of answers and a possible escape, he begins confronting the fears, regrets, insecurities, and unresolved relationships that defined his life on Earth.
Blending mythological horror, absurdist comedy, emotional character drama, and stylized fantasy worldbuilding, Abandon All Hope transforms Dante’s classic descent into Hell into a visually inventive and emotionally grounded odyssey about friendship, identity, self-worth, and what it truly means to move on.
Developed as both a feature screenplay and an expanding graphic novel proof of concept, the project includes completed screenplay materials, character and environment designs, and sequential graphic novel scene adaptations exploring the visual language and cinematic scope of the world.
